Baseball Game Preview: Elkhorn Elks vs. Verona Wildcats

The Elkhorn Elks are taking a road trip to challenge the Verona Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elkhorn will be strutting in after a victory while Verona will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Elkhorn was able to grind out a solid win over Wilmot, taking the game 6-3. The Elks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Verona couldn't beat Vel Phillips Memorial on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since June 4, 2024.

Verona's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Elkhorn, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
