La Salle Academy is on a 22-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Coventry is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. La Salle Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Silver Lake Regional, who was ranked third in their home state at the time (La Salle Academy was ranked first). The Rams came out on top against the Lakers by a score of 6-1 on Sunday.
Hailey Vigneau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Elle Kershaw was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Samantha Sell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: La Salle Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least four home runs in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Coventry was able to grind out a solid win over Cumberland on Saturday, taking the game 9-4. The victory continues a trend for the Oakers in their matchups with the Clippers: they've now won four in a row.
Sage SoareS made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). SoareS was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, LiLyana BeLL and Izzy Dyl did most of the damage at the plate: Bell went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Dyl went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Payton Baris, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
La Salle Academy's win bumped their record up to 15-0. As for Coventry, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. La Salle Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Coventry struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went La Salle Academy's way against Coventry in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as La Salle Academy made off with a 13-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Oakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
