Football Recap: Yazoo City Indians vs. Greenwood Bulldogs
Yazoo City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell 22-14 to the Greenwood Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 20-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Juwaun Gideon had an outrageously good game for Greenwood as he rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Yazoo City's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Greenwood, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yazoo City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Yazoo County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenwood, they will take on Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
