Basketball Recap: Cripple Creek-Victor Skates Past Manzanola with Ease

Cripple Creek-Victor's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Manzanola Bobcats 43-5. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for the Pioneers this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cripple Creek-Victor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylee May, who posted 19 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which May has scored at least a third of Cripple Creek-Victor's points. Madison Mead was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten boards.

Cripple Creek-Victor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

The victory snapped Cripple Creek-Victor's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-15 record. As for Manzanola, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Cripple Creek-Victor will take on Pikes Peak Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pikes Peak Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Manzanola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
