Baseball Game Preview: Woburn Memorial Tanners vs. Reading Memorial Rockets

The Woburn Memorial Tanners will square off against the Reading Memorial Rockets at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woburn Memorial 4, Reading Memorial 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Woburn Memorial blew Medford out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Medford got their revenge. The Tanners fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-5.

Meanwhile, Reading Memorial came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Rams as they made off with a 12-1 victory. Considering the Rockets have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Reading Memorial's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Woburn Memorial, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Woburn Memorial came out on top in a nail-biter against Reading Memorial in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Tanners repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
