Baseball Recap: Benbrook Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benbrook). They were the clear victor by an 18-1 margin over the Southwest Raiders on Monday. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Hudson Stockton was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, Tanner Madara was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (four). Ethan Smith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Benbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Benbrook pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Benbrook beat Southwest by a score of 6-1 later that day.
