Preview: Ord Chanticleers vs. Centura Centurions

Ord is 3-0 against Centura since October of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ord Chanticleers will head out on the road to face off against the Centura Centurions at 7:00 p.m. Ord is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Last Friday, Ord faced Broken Bow in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ord walked away with a 21-14 win over Broken Bow. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Ord was the better team in the second half.

It was another big night for Trent Mccain, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Mccain was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.

Meanwhile, Centura fell victim to Kearney Catholic's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Stars on the road and fell 27-0. Centura's defeat signaled the end of their 4-game winning streak.

Ord's victory lifted them to 6-2 while Centura's loss dropped them down to 4-4.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' match: Ord has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 393.1 total yards per game. It's a different story for Centura, though, as they've been averaging only 237.2 per game. Will Ord be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Centura flip the ?

Everything came up roses for Ord against Centura in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 43-16 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Centura's Quentin Morris, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Ord to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
