Basketball Recap: Mt. Markham Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sauquoit Valley last Saturday, Mt. Markham came back down to earth. The Mt. Markham Mustangs took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cazenovia Lakers on Monday. The loss was the Mustangs' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mt. Markham fell to 2-1. As for Cazenovia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Mt. Markham will look to defend their home court on Friday against Utica Academy of Science at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Markham has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 197 points over their last three contests. Cazenovia has already played their next game, a 63-49 defeat against Skaneateles on the 11th.
