Basketball Recap: Glenn Falls Despite Big Games from Zyire Murphy and Jeremiah Torian

Glenn's tournament run continued when they took on Union Pines on Friday. The Glenn Bobcats fell to the Union Pines Vikings 53-48. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Vikings 17-11 in the first quarter.

Glenn's loss came despite strong showings from Jeremiah Torian and Zyire Murphy. Torian went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Murphy went 8 for 14 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Those 14 points gave Torian a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Hines, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

It was another big night for Jaylen Kyle, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards for Union Pines. Kingsley Donaldson was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points.

Glenn's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Union Pines, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Glenn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-43 win against Cummings on the 28th. As for Union Pines, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-43 defeat against Overhills on the 28th.
