Softball Recap: Morgan Comes Up Short

Morgan and Manti squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Morgan had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Templars by a score of 13-11. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly two runs.

Summer Bangerter made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Wardell, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Morgan has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Manti, their victory bumped their record up to 12-17.

Morgan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manti, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-12 win against Richfield on the 12th.
