Hampton Roads Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Peninsula Catholic 108-37. Hampton Roads Academy has struggled against Peninsula Catholic recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Norfolk Christian ended up a good deal behind Christchurch School on Friday and lost 68-51.
Despite the loss, Norfolk Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jalen Freeman scored 25 points. Freeman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Brandon Giddens was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Hampton Roads Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Norfolk Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
Hampton Roads Academy came up short against Norfolk Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 44-32. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Freeman, who scored 19 points along with eight steals and seven assists.
