Football Recap: Greenfield Takes a Loss

Greenfield was the 58-40 winner over Drexel/Miami when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats took a blow against Drexel/Miami on Friday, falling 82-40. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (36), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Greenfield still got an impressive performance from Hudson McGuire, who picked up 69 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 40 yards and a pair of touchdowns. McGuire also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Wildcats are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise. Andrew Mays was another key player, gaining 104 total yards and a touchdown.

Greenfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as McGuire, Ryan Hansen, and Drake Morrison picked up one apiece.

Greenfield has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Drexel/Miami, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Looking ahead, Greenfield will venture away from home to take on Bishop LeBlond at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Drexel/Miami, they will host Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
