Basketball Recap: Ira Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ira can now relate to. They fell 50-41 to the Benjamin Mustangs on Friday.

Benjamin found their leader in sophomore Keegan Hayes, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hayes has scored at least a third of Benjamin's points. Another player making a difference was Mauricio Silva, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Ira's defeat dropped their record down to 26-6. As for Benjamin, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Ira does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benjamin, they will square off against Robert Lee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robert Lee will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Benjamin surely won't give up without a fight.
