Basketball Recap: Lexington Yellowjackets vs. Ledford Panthers
Lexington was the 72-58 winner over Ledford when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lexington Yellowjackets fell 58-51 to the Ledford Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Panthers are ranked 159th).
Despite the loss, Lexington still got an impressive performance from Rahzel Ewart, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Henderson, who posted 16 points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Lexington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ledford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Grier, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 boards. Grier is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Peele, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds.
Lexington dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ledford, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Lexington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-67 loss against Oak Grove on the 28th. As for Ledford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 87-67 defeat against Robinson on the 28th.
