Softball Game Preview: Como-Pickton Eagles vs. Fruitvale Bobcats

Como-Pickton has gone a perfect 7-0 against Fruitvale recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Como-Pickton Eagles will square off against the Fruitvale Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

On Friday, everything went Como-Pickton's way against Alba-Golden as Como-Pickton made off with a 14-4 win. Considering the Eagles have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Fruitvale got the win against Martins Mill on Friday by a conclusive 7-1. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly six runs.

Kyla Bain made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Bain was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ronnye Tull was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles. Madyson Bierl was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Fruitvale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Como-Pickton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. Fruitvale's record is now 4-5-1.

Como-Pickton took their victory against Fruitvale in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Como-Pickton since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
