Basketball Recap: Cromwell Takes a Loss

Cromwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Morgan Huskies an easy 54-34 win. The Panthers lost against the Huskies in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 78-29 score last time.

Despite the loss, Cromwell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Peyton Kelleher posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Piper Kovacs, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Cromwell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Morgan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cromwell Panthers challenge the Brookfield Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Morgan, they will head out to take on Granby Memorial at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Granby Memorial will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Morgan surely won't give up without a fight.
