Softball Game Preview: Xavier Hawks vs. Shawano Community Hawks

Xavier hasn't had much luck against Shawano Community recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Xavier will look to defend their home field against Shawano Community at 5:00 p.m. Xavier will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Xavier is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Mayville 19-2 on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Xavier got a massive performance out of Kalia Stammer, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Stammer a new career-high. Abby Ourada was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Xavier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Shawano Community came up short against Mosinee on Friday, falling 16-3. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The win got Xavier back to even at 3-3. As for Shawano Community, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Everything went Xavier's way against Shawano Community when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Xavier made off with a 10-0 victory. Does Xavier have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shawano Community turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
