Baseball Recap: Rochester Comes Up Short

Rochester extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rossville Hornets. The Zebras were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Rochester saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Casper, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Casper has brought in this season. Linden Wilburn was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Rossville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 19, 2025.

On Rossville's side, the team relied heavily on Nolan Britt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Daulton Faucett, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rochester will head out to square off against Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rossville, they will venture away from home to challenge Seeger at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
