Softball Recap: Clairemont Chieftains vs. West Hills Wolf Pack

Clairemont lost against West Hills back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Clairemont fell just short of West Hills by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Chieftains have lost by just one run.

Ava Cain made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Finley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Cain wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Clairemont lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Clairemont now has a losing record of 4-5. As for West Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Clairemont didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-4 defeat against Point Loma on the 27th. As for West Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-1 tie against La Costa Canyon on the 28th.
