Football Recap: Millard South Patriots vs. Omaha Westside Warriors
Millard South had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 27-10 win over the Omaha Westside Warriors on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
Aamir Hill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 62 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Millard South's defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Adam Pugh and Solomon Baker, who racked up four sacks between them. Another thorn in Omaha Westside's side was Teagan Urban, who picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made 12 total tackles.
Despite the defeat, Omaha Westside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tay Tay Jenkins rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Jenkins' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 114 rushing yards.
Millard South's record now sits at 12-1. As for Omaha Westside, they moved to 12-1 with that loss, which also ended their 25-game winning streak.
