Northshore entered their tilt with Northlake Christian on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with ten. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Northlake Christian Wolverines. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Carson Malasovich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Northshore's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connor Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ethan Sumner also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Northshore pushed their record up to 10-1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs over those games. As for Northlake Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4-1.

Looking ahead, Northshore will be playing at home against Loranger at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Loranger: 3.9, Northshore: 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Northlake Christian, they will head out to face off against Central Private at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
