Basketball Recap: Grand Canyon Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Grand Canyon won the last time they faced BASIS Flagstaff, and Jaemie Jensen did her part to make sure it happened again. The Grand Canyon Phantoms blew past the BASIS Flagstaff Yetis 50-16 on Tuesday thanks in part to Jensen, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 28 times she's played.

Anmber Charley was another key player, putting up four points along with ten steals and eight boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.8 steals per game.

When it comes to explaining why BASIS Flagstaff lost, don't look at Jasmine Hall. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

With the victory, Grand Canyon broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for BASIS Flagstaff, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Grand Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 37-30 win against Music Mountain on the 17th. As for BASIS Flagstaff, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-5 loss against Fredonia on the 13th.
