Softball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Find Success

Pinecrest Academy Cadence took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against Chaparral, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars skirted past the Chaparral Cowboys 17-15. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Cowboys last Thursday, they had to take a 29-14 loss.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence let Ava Englestead and Aliyah Kolish run wild. Englestead scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Kolish scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Kolish has posted since back in March of 2024. Destiny Aguilar was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

The victory got Pinecrest Academy Cadence back to even at 1-1. As for Chaparral, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinecrest Academy Cadence will challenge GV Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chaparral will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Eldorado at 3:30 p.m. on March 13th.
