Softball Game Preview: West Fork Tigers vs. Lincoln Wolves

The West Fork Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Fork has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Fork is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Elkins on Monday. They came up short against the Elks, falling 11-1. The Tigers have struggled against the Elks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

West Fork saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Harderson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Harderson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, Lincoln entered their tilt with Fayetteville on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bulldogs 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since May 11, 2024.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for West Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

West Fork might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Lincoln when the teams last played back in March. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
