Basketball Recap: Northwest Vikings vs. McCook Bison

Northwest proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 36) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the McCook Bison 49-47. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laiken Dorsey, who went 5-for-11 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Mcintyre, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Northwest was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCook only seven assists.

Despite the loss, McCook still got an impressive performance from Paige Bortner, who put up ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Bortner has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alice Weimer, who earned nine points.
