Basketball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

Plainview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 50-36 bruising from the Amarillo Sandies. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Sandies are ranked 34th).

Plainview's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Amarillo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.

Plainview will welcome Lubbock-Cooper at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Amarillo, they will head out on the road to challenge Caprock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Caprock: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while Amarillo has snatched up 13 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
