Volleyball Recap: Newcomerstown Takes a Loss

Newcomerstown came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Hiland Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2020.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-11.

Briley Little paced Newcomerstown's offense, picking up seven kills. Little got some help from Maggie Collins and her 11 assists.

Newcomerstown dropped their record down to 10-14 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Hiland, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-1.

Newcomerstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hiland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Buckeye Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
