Football Recap: Landon Johnson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dutchtown

After only six points in their last game, Madison Prep Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Dutchtown on Friday. Madison Prep Academy came out on top against Dutchtown by a score of 48-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Madison Prep Academy.

Madison Prep Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Johnson, who threw for 214 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Johnson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. J'On Profit also helped out as he racked up 119 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Madison Prep Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Madison Prep Academy's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Darius Mack was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up four himself. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played. Madison Prep Academy got some further help from Cannon Walker: he picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Madison Prep Academy's record now sits at 2-0.
