Basketball Recap: Huntington Comes Up Short

If Huntington was riding high fresh off their 70-43 takedown of Livingston on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huntington Red Devils lost to the Brookeland Wildcats on the road by a 68-53 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 730th, while the Wildcats are ranked 292nd).

Huntington's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Brookeland, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Huntington and Hudson will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Brookeland, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chireno at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Chireno's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
