Volleyball Recap: Clint Comes Up Short

Clint was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Socorro Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 29-27, 27-25.

Leading Socorro to victory were Alyssa Almanza and Ayeleen Gutierrez. Almanza had 23 digs and three assists, while Gutierrez had ten assists and three digs. Those three assists gave Almanza a new career-high.

Clint's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Socorro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Clint will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Horizon at 6:35 p.m. As for Socorro, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Irvin on the 21st.
