Basketball Recap: Goodpasture Christian Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Goodpasture Christian had won three straight home games and Lazaviona Hawkins did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Goodpasture Christian Cougars took down the Nashville Christian Eagles 51-37 thanks in part to Hawkins, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Crocker, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Goodpasture Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Nashville Christian, they moved to 11-2 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
