Basketball Recap: Roselle Rams vs. Metuchen Bulldogs

Roselle was the 72-60 winner over Metuchen when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Roselle Rams fell 53-42 to the Metuchen Bulldogs on Wednesday.

Roselle lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Na'Ki Jefferson, who posted 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jodarsen Pierre, who scored 14 points.

Cameron Hayes-Durina was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 8 en route to 22 points and seven boards for Metuchen. That's the most points Hayes-Durina has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Woods, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 14 points.

Roselle's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Metuchen, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Roselle will host Marion P. Thomas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Metuchen, they will venture away from home to take on Calvary Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
