Softball Recap: Parkview Takes a Loss

Parkview came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Central Tigers, falling 12-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 13-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

Ma'Kylah Palmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and eight unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Ma'Kyyah Palmer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Parkview's loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Central, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-5.

Coming up, Parkview will host Vilonia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Central, they will head out on the road to square off against North Little Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
