Basketball Game Preview: Baldwin Bulldogs vs. Bonner Springs Braves

The Baldwin Bulldogs will square off against the Bonner Springs Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Baldwin didn't have too much trouble with Tonganoxie as they won 57-40. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Chieftains are ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bonner Springs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 71-41 win over the Wildcats. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 26 points or more this season.

Bonner Springs pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Baldwin, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Everything came up roses for Baldwin against Bonner Springs when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 70-43 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Bonner Springs' Jason Jones, who posted 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
