Grayson makes a big move up the rankings following a dominant state title-game performance.

After an impressive playoff run through one of the country's most difficult brackets, Grayson jumps three spots to No. 3 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Grayson completed an unblemished season, punctuated in style with a dominant 24-0 effort over Walton, which entered the contest unbeaten.

Making an impressive debut in the rankings is Carroll. The Dallas-area program, which won three consecutive 5A state titles in the 2000s, could ascend to the top of the Texas football scene once again with a victory over Fort Bend Hightower.

Also entering the rankings is Lake Oswego, which pounded Sheldon 47-14 in the Class 6A final.
