Softball Recap: Ragland Comes Up Short

Ragland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to the St. Clair County Fighting Saints. The Purple Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Fighting Saints from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Ragland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for St. Clair County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season.

Ragland will take on Appalachian at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Ragland has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for St. Clair County, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-4 loss against Springville on the 14th.
