Basketball Recap: Shadow Mountain Comes Up Short

Shadow Mountain lost against Thunderbird back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Shadow Mountain Matadors lost 44-18 to the Thunderbird Titans. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Shadow Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Shonnie Holland posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Holland.

Shadow Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Thunderbird, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shadow Mountain will square off against Paradise Honors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Paradise Honors' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups. As for Thunderbird, they will face off against Moon Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Moon Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
