Softball Recap: Laguna Hills Takes a Loss

Laguna Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 18-6 to the Dana Hills Dolphins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 13-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Kassidy Patterson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Julianna Kornegay was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Laguna Hills' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Dana Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Laguna Hills Hawks challenge Calvary Chapel Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dana Hills, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mission Viejo at 4:00 p.m. on the 11th.
