Softball Recap: Vincent Has No Trouble Against Comer

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southeastern, Vincent was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Comer Tigers. The Yellow Jackets have beaten the Tigers the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Madisyn King was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Schiller, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Vincent was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Comer only posted a batting average of .273.

Vincent pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Comer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, Vincent and Comer will both be playing Childersburg the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Yellow Jackets will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
