Basketball Game Preview: Jeannette Jayhawks vs. Frazier Commodores

The Jeannette Jayhawks will face off against the Frazier Commodores at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jeannette has nine straight wins, Frazier has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Jeannette took their matchup with ease, bagging a 74-31 victory over Yough. Fans of the Jayhawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, Frazier came up short against South Park on Friday, falling 56-33. While losing is never fun, the Commodores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 620th, while the Eagles are ranked 147th).

Jeannette will need focus on slowing down Kolby Stewart, one of several Frazier players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dailan McManus, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 18 points.

Jeannette's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Frazier, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
