Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Calvary Christian proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Ludlow Panthers 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-4 two weeks ago.

Josh Ruwe was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Ruwe wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cal Ruwe, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Nate Ruwe also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Calvary Christian's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ludlow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Calvary Christian will venture away from home to challenge Bellevue at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ludlow, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-2 win against Holmes on the 9th.
