Recap: Merrillville Pirates vs. Munster Mustangs
The Merrillville Pirates waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They snuck past Munster with a 67-63 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Merrillville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaeden Williams, who scored 20 points along with six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyshawn Mitchell, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Merrillville pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Munster, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merrillville will face off against Crown Point at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Crown Point is ranked 37th, while Merrillville is ranked 52nd). As for Munster, they will head out on the road to challenge Hobart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
