Recap: Columbus Cardinals vs. Palacios Sharks

The Palacios Sharks typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Columbus Cardinals proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 51-35 win over the Sharks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Columbus.

Columbus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anaya Gardner led the charge by scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Sage Thomas was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Palacios, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9.

Columbus will head out on the road to take on Edna at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Palacios, they will be playing at home against Hallettsville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hallettsville is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
