Volleyball Recap: Nicolet Takes a Loss

Nicolet lost against Grafton back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights fell just short of the Black Hawks by a score of 3-2. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Nicolet took Grafton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, 19-25, 21-25, 15-12.

When it comes to explaining why Nicolet lost, don't look at Hannah Caler. Despite the final result, she had six aces.

Leading Grafton to victory were Abigail Barthelemy and Ava Dotson. Barthelemy had 17 digs and two aces, while Dotson had 15 assists and six digs. That's the most digs Dotson has posted since back in September. Khiah King was another key player, getting nine digs and two aces.

Nicolet's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Grafton, they moved to 22-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Nicolet wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Dominican on the 17th. As for Grafton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against West Bend West on the 18th.
