Basketball Game Preview: Waukon Indians vs. Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons

The Waukon Indians will head out to take on the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Waukon was able to grind out a solid win over New Hampton, taking the game 59-50. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly nine points.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Aplington-Parkersburg's strategy against Hampton-Dumont on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Aplington-Parkersburg blew Hampton-Dumont out of the water with a 64-30 final score. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Aplington-Parkersburg has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points over those games. As for Waukon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-15.
