Baseball Recap: Tuscola Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tuscola can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Jon Pettry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Musgrave was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Tuscola's loss dropped their record down to 13-20. As for Mt. Pulaski, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-6.

Tuscola does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Pulaski, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on the 28th.
