Baseball Game Preview: Barr-Reeve Vikings vs. Mitchell Bluejackets

Barr-Reeve has gone a perfect 7-0 against Mitchell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Vikings will head out to challenge the Bluejackets at 5:30 p.m. Barr-Reeve's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Mitchell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Barr-Reeve got the win against Wood Memorial by a conclusive 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Perry Central.

Barr-Reeve's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Mitchell, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Everything went Barr-Reeve's way against Mitchell in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Barr-Reeve made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
