Softball Game Preview: Haughton Buccaneers vs. Neville Tigers

The Haughton Buccaneers will face off against the Neville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Haughton had been on a five-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Natchitoches Central put an end to it on Wednesday. The Buccaneers took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. The Buccaneers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Neville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to Ruston.

Haughton's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Neville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Haughton skirted past Neville 4-2 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
