Softball Recap: Chilton Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Chilton won the last time they faced New Holstein and things went their way on Friday too. The Tigers came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 7-4.

Lauren Roehrig was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reegan Woodard, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Mya Grenzer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Chilton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Holstein only managed four hits.

Chilton pushed their record up to 15-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for New Holstein, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-9.

Chilton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 loss against Southern Door on the 27th. As for New Holstein, they have also already played their next game, a 6-5 victory against Kewaunee on the 27th.
