Softball Recap: Vision vs. Parma Panthers
Vision extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They lost 21-2 to the Parma Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Parma this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 on April 11th.
Vision saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddison Dibben, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
As for Parma, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by nine runs or more this season.
On Parma's side, Kinlea Cole made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Cole was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.
In other batting news, Zoey Heffelfinger and Lakota Leppert did most of the damage at the plate: Heffelfinger got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Leppert went 3-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Heffelfinger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Watkins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Looking ahead, Vision will head out to challenge New Plymouth at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Vision's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pilgrims have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. Parma does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
